ISA HQ is moving

Sharon Lilly moved to Acworth after she retired, maybe she was sent to check the area out. It WILL be a lot easier getting to ISA hq. I flew to Champaign once for meetings and have driven ever since. I could drive it in almost the same time I spent getting to and from airport and changing planes. Atlanta will be a big change for those employees who decide to move here.

I didn't see it mentioned in the press release....but I'd bet it is also more attractive to potential hires in the future as well. I gotta think it is easier to get talent in or to Atlanta than Champaign?

That is a reason that I heard years ago when I was more involved in ISA/Chapter business. They missed out on talent who didn't care to live in Champaign.

Probably not mentioned in an article as that could the construed to imply they currently have second rate talent on staff...

My interactions with the ISA office have been cordial and professional. I don't think they are second rate. I just think they want to be in Florida and are splitting the difference. ;)

Ouch! That's rough
By no means did I intend to imply they are!!! Every interaction I've had has been great. Just saying if they said in a press release "moving will allow us to attract better staff" that might be read the wrong way. I'm assuming it a looking forward as it is harder and harder to find good employees across industries.

I'd rather live in Champaign than Atlanta. Traffic is insane in Atlanta and it has gotten worst since you left Tom.

More Home Depots in Atlanta with garden centers....more possible certified arborist! Cha ching!

I'm 45 miles NE of Atlanta and it sucks even this far out.
