Is the news rigged? : )

Did you ever think TV was good? Its rubbish here in the UK - but when I've visited the US I've been amazed at how many channels you have - and how **** it all was. The adverts - oh sooooo bad.

(OK so I've not been stateside for a number of years now so maybe just maybe it improved, and apparently there are loads of channels in the UK now too - and they are all worse that the 4 we had! Dont have a telly license...)
 
TV and Hollywood are insidious. They are powerful tools for mass manipulation and mind control. They meld state propaganda with corporate marketing. They largely target non rational fears and desires to induce behavior modification and emotional predisposition.

They also direct target my children with massive integrated marketing campaigns.

Children's TV and movies are especially bad. My kids watch TV only at their relatives houses and they always come back asking me to buy them something.

The stories they see on the news are the worst though. They've seen and heard about stuff on the network news that I never would've let them watch in a movie or show.

In a child it's much easier to see how they play on fears, try to modify behavior, and it's all about selling you stuff.
