We worked for one of our customers on the Navesink river. This is down the road from BonJovi and across from Springsteen. We had to prune these two oaks (besides other removals and such).
I pruned the one on the right and Smokey did the one on the left. We had to set a line on top of the hill and rappel down to the trees about 75'. We had to drop through this hole along the way.
Here's Smokey around 35' high. He thought that a 120' line would work for this tree. I laughed and told him that they were a bit taller than they looked from on top of the hill. /forum/images/graemlins/grin.gif
I thought that looked familiar. It's your house, right Mark?
When I saw the first pics of the tops I thought it was a normal job. Those trees are HUGE compared to anything short of cottonweeds here in Denver. Nice job!
My offer still stands when you get the job across the road
here in michigan, we cant prune oaks till the winter time because of Oak Wilt. What is the range of Wilt and where did it originate and when was it discovered, anyone know?
Thanks guys! Had a great little party, some friends came over for a BBQ and had a great time. Brought back an empty 1/4 barrel today /forum/images/graemlins/beerchug.gif
I found that Oak wilt was first identified in Wisconsin in 1944.
