Indiana TCC 2010 dates

On May 10th, 2010 IAA members came together at Forest Park in Noblesville, to donate their time, equipment and expertise to prune trees in preparation for the September 24-26 2010 IAA-TCC Event.

In exchange for the tree work, Noblesville Parks & Rec. has graciously agreed to allow us free use of the park for both the TCC Event and a "Safe Climb" being held in August.

The "Safe Climb is being organized by IAA Commercial Rep., Brian Mann to familiarize climbers with the nuances of participating in a Tree Climbing Championship.

Many thanks to Erin Hinshaw, Susie Davis and Kelly Funk of Noblesville Parks & Rec. for all their help in coordinating use of this excellent site!

And many thanks to the following volunteers who help with the day of pruning...Hugo Torres, Charlie Baker, Victor Villasenor and Andy Callahan of Wright Tree Service, Inc. Indianapolis. Matt Baldwin and Levi Mainord of Baldwin Tree Preservation, Nashville, IN. The,"A Team", Grant Davis and Brad Engle, along with Lindsey Purcell from Purdue in Lafayette.

Many thanks to Mark Poliak of Brickman Group for providing financial support.

We have submitted photos and articles for the IAA website and the next IAA newsletter. We're not sure when that info will be posted.

Climber and Volunteer registrations should be posted on the IAA website soon. If anyone wants a registration mailed to them now, please let me know.

We need to start looking for sponsors to help us with financial support....if anyone knows of someone that we should contact....give us a shout so we can get make this event one of the most awesome events the IAA has ever had!!!

We're pumped and ready!!!!!

Thanks again to all the guys who came out on May 10th! It was a beautiful day and we were able to get alot accomplished.

Hey! Victorian Gardens would like to come help with the competition in September. Jeff Thierbach will be there to volunteer - preference is foot locking. We are the Chair and Co-Chair of the MTCC. Let us know if you can use our help!- Thanks!

Good job on the pruning guys I hope the trees look awesome. Love to have the footlcok masters from Michigan. Look forward to seeing you in Michigan and our competition this year.

Okay guys and gals....climbers, judges and volunteers..now is your chance to give us your opinion on what kind of food we should have at the IAA TCC.

Last year - we had pork BBQ sandwiches - my wife made enough BBQ prior to the event for 80+ sandwiches. We froze it, transported it to Noblesville, got up at 5 am the day of the event to get the BBQ and crockpots heated up and ready for the day. We were able to have hot sandwiches all day long. Plus a variety of chips and drinks were also provided.

What do some of the other chapters offer up in the way of food??? We're open to suggestions!!! We know that climbers have different food needs than volunteers and we try to be understanding of that....but it's hard to meet everyone's needs.

We're trying to keep costs down as much as possible so that sponsorship money can go directly to supporting the event with the hopes of getting our masters challenge winner to Australia.

Food ideas........let us know!!

Can't help ya there! We have to use Oakland University's chefs for our meals. Set up is a box lunch - sandwich, fruit, chips and a soda. I don't know what the event day meal is yet.

I drove thru the site in the late afternoon on the 10th. Beautiful park you guys. Excellent choice and good job on the footwork. Brian, if I can, I'd love to help with your event in August as well as the championship in September. I've spoken with Rick. Noblesville is a VERY cool little town and offers a lot as far as tourism. My only request for food is...NO STYROFOAM! Whiz
