The HAAS is the first add in component to any system that will make things easier. You can begin using it in a Doubled Rope Technique system, and get more efficiency with the same tool when you switch to a Stationary Rope Technique system.
What Derrick said about the ascent and changeover is great advice. If you already are isolating a limb to climb DdRT, just tie a Running Bowline and send it up to cinch the limb. You can ascend the stationary line up to the TIP and tie in with your lanyard to make the immediate changeover. You likely have most of what you need to get started already.
Besides, you're a ninja!![]()
Don't bother isolating the limb. A shot over and quick trunk wrap and tie-off, without $150 in base tie gear, would do you just find for ascending SRT, and lanyarding in to change over. Isolating is a waste of time, generally.
ALWAYS know where all your rope are, and will be during any operation. Fear of cutting the down strand comes from not knowing where you life support lines are. It would be Like clearing utility lines but not knowing where all the wires are.
