All of you that have offered help now I'm looking for it. September 19th, 2012.

My ISA chapter is still working on hiring the ex. director position but they haven't forgot about me.

What I'm proposing is a days blitz of awareness/ education I'm looking for people from every state every city every province to help. People expect ISA to take care of everything then complain nothing is getting done. So what I want is a day of nation wide attention. I'm looking for volunteers to do radio talk shows in there area, magazine articles, newspapers, even in just your little rural town play favorites go to your kids school for an assembly, they are the next generation of HO, university guest lecturer. Anything you can think of let me know.

Now its on paper with a date so wether you pity the weekend warriors, laugh at them, avoid them this is our chance to educate the public and hopefully have it be an annual event. Everyone of you knows this is good for our industry and there's no reason we should get our points out there.

Whether you talk about the benefits of certs. and insurance, greening our future, why safety and saftey factors must be used anything you want/know.

Last point is a reminder token whether its for a city/ town, a school, a retirement home, charity house plant a tree. Any size any species you want
but a lesson with a legacy is what the general public need.

This gives me some time to get something planned.

Thanks for putting the peg in the ground. Now we can take it and run.

This is similar to how Earth Day was started.

Minnesota celebrates 'Arbor Month'

A friend of mine whose birthday is in late September celebrates 'Birthday Month'.

I think its a great idea to celebrate trees every day!

Thanks Tom and you're right i'd like to double our efforts so doing it both days would make twice as much sense. So what can you do?

Good idea Norm I've done a few volunteer planting days at different public schools. Also for the town so they can put in there new park with access for disabled kids and I'm trying to work on a radio ad but that's just local and I'm just getting started. At work we also do a lot of chainsaw safety classes with local public schools. Were also looking into getting our names on a disaster relief program list

But now I'm trying to make a push on the public on why they should hire certifed arbos. Not just insured

September 26 is Canada's National Tree Day. So, on Sep 19th and Sep 26 I will write my blog on the topics here at hand.
It publishes in a major Canadian Newspaper, so I hope that will be of some help.

We want to promote the ISA through asking people to consider Certified Arbs, right?

Frax yeah that's right and Guy that's great thankyou for getting behind this. Frax how do I find your blog?
