I need advise on buying my first chipper

I came in late on this, but I think you probably made a good choice...depending on what you've paid. As others stated in this thread, your new chipper is very similar in design to a Vermeer BC 935. I own one of them and love it for what it is. It's perfect for pruning jobs, or when your business model is set up to manage larger diameter wood through other outlets and you're not trying to match production of a large removal based company.

I watched my father modify more things than you could imagine (guess it's in the genes...;)). A while ago, I stopped looking at things for the make/model, and just being more objective. Simple, straightforward designed and constructed equipment would leave me little concern for repairs. That chipper should be very easy to work on, and the only part issues I would be concerned with would be major motor parts (Yanmar is still around), or worn out hydro valves/motors. I also see it has 2 feed rollers, which could be real nice. The 935 has only 1, although no small material will ever escape the bottom of the machine.

Best of luck with your purchase, man!
