Hydration, electrolytes

It’s not even a chore either…. I got a countertop(I rent where I live)gravity fed charcoal/fluoride filter, the hopper holds 2.25 gallons and I need to replenish it once a day. Staying hydrated with good water (municipal water is poison) is one of the best investments in your health that is so easily attainable.
my house has an under sink water filter, use that water in anything I drink, soooo much better

I installed one of those with a separate mini faucet. I'll second the soooo much better.

I needed another hole in my SS sink for the faucet. One of the Greenlee tools for punching holes for conduit in electrical boxes worked like a champ.

Yikes! After my original cartridge became impossible to find, I found a reasonably priced refrigerator cartridge and changed my setup to use that cartridge. I think they're around $25. May need changing more often than a giant filter, but still.

when its time to replace ours I will pass this along

I remember seeing the ones our system uses for like $375, now its closer to $200 for 3

quite possibly more people are using filtered water because the rona is making it more expensive to go buy anything at the store causing the price to drop on filters

I cannot speak highly enough of the Trace Minerals products. Like JD I take a more diy approach and just add their electrolyte blend to my beverage of choice (OJ, body armor lyte, apple juice, chocolate milk, etc.). Great product1725B216-CECD-4BAD-953C-6FDE2797AEE1.jpeg

I also like the powders from cure hydration. They have 4x the electrolytes of a typical sports drink and are sweetened with coconut water. They are a little pricey but I believe it’s worth it. We only get 1 body after all.521DEEB9-7A2E-4882-B275-2D8BF276692E.jpeg
If I know I will be aloft for many hours on a big climb I will typically take gel pouches with me in a pocket to help avoid bonking. Usually gu or honey stinger are my preference there.

These are two brands of hydration powders you can buy on Amazon that are wayy better than Gatorade, Body Armor, etc.

These are the only two im familiar with but im sure theres a hundred just like it. I tend to lean towards drip drop because of taste

Haha you guys are gonna bankrupt me! You keep posting cool looking products and I jump on amazon and buy some,, I think after I use them all up I’ll go with jeffgu and jd’s suggestions though, looks much more affordable!

With what is available to us year-round, dietary deficiencies are mostly a matter of personal choice these days.
I’m curious how you mean?

Modern magnesium deficiency comes from the way we’ve abused the soil. There just isn’t much there for the plants to take up and store.

Magnesium and all of the other minerals are still available in foods nonetheless; it is a requirement for their growth. Big ag has done a number on ruining both nutritional quality and soil health in the quest for greater production and profits, this is true. So don't support it! It is not the only choice.

That said, the biggest nutritional void is not in the growing, it is in the processing and the crap people choose to eat. You can only blame the manufacturers up to a point. It is your choice on what you buy and, in doing so, support.
