Husqvarna T540 XP stop switch

So I was given this saw from my general foreman to be used at work. Everything runs great but the stop switch is broke. It's a "hand me down" from other workers that quit the company. Right now there's a zip tie to keep it from popping out. Only way to turn off the saw is by using the choke. I don't know much about repairing chainsaws, but I'm willing to try just because it's a switch. Can anyone here direct me on how to fix this?

I replaced mine about a year ago. You need to remove the screws that hold the two pieces of the handle together and the switch will slide out.

After you fix the saw make sure you give the bill to the boss. I mean come on, WTF. Who gives an employee a saw that is not fully functional, have a little pride in the company you own and the image you portraying to the public.

Exactly ! It's a $3 switch or something cheap like that ! If anyone from ministry of labour ( here in Canada saw that) well you'd be paying a lot more then $3 ! Really it's a simple 5-10 minute fix. I've replaced them on all 3 of my 540's since I've had them. That's the only thing I've done to mine.

So although I don't have a new switch to install, I went ahead to see what I was dealing with.

do I just disconnect the two wires and install the new one in?
