Wow, I can't believe it but the state actually processed and returned my paperwork already. I now have an official LLC.


Getting insurance quotes now. I'm thinking 300k for the first year since I am only part time. Thoughts? Should it be 500k, I usually work small stuff with minimal chance of damages.

It's really hard for other people to tell you what to do. I've subbed wood hauling to a very large tree service with a 300k policy. I've had 2 mill from the start. First year it cost me $800 because I looked like a tiny landscaping company. By year's end I was taking down full size trees and running into wood hauling issues. My rates went up when I started subbing wood hauling, and I was actually audited by my insurer in year three. Now in year four, I have precedent established so my rates are down slightly. Year four is a good year. You'll figure it out once you get quotes, including one from Stratum.
