I called my payroll carrier about providing health insurance for my three full time guys they said i will have to pay half the premium! How am i supposed to pay for that added expense? Go without? go out of business? most of my competition doesn't even have workmans comp, much less forced health care expense! the added expense of the health care package is $4500 a month for all my full timers and my family!!!!! wtf. they'll have health care but i will be begging for a dollar on the street so i can eat or i'll have to drop everybody to part time only hours. f that. and if we grow to another crew this spring that will add another $3000 a month! what a f--king racket. I hope all you a holes that voted for him are happy now. I have spoke to a lot of people that are going to have to lay off or cut hours so they don't go into the red and that is just in this one horse town i live in! what is this going to do to the economy...... Just like that diesel exhaust fluid crap boosting the cost of shipping sky high. wtf chuck....... Just when things were starting to get better.......

most of your concerns are decidedly unfounded. In fact this plan was originally proposed by your boy Mittens. Im fairly certain for a business your size as well as my size that very little will change. You know the guy who invented Workers Comp was a republican?

Couple things... I'm not sure what organization is behind the above linked site about obamacare, but its pretty sketchy. First, it reads more like an ad than a legit info site. Second, they repeatedly misuse "effect" instead of "affect", including in the title of the very first paragraph- a small but telling detail. Third, it reminds me of a quote: "If you have to keep telling people how powerful you are, you aren't." Likewise, when propaganda websites are being constructed to convince small businessmen that this two-thousand page monstrosity will not AFFECT them at all, it almost certainly will. If I've learned one thing in my limited experience, it's this: When politicians pass laws that will take care of everything, not cost anything, and let you sleep well at night......it's time to wake up. America hit the snooze button last Tuesday. Alarm goes off again in four years.

I pulled the sight quick because i didnt have time but it reaffirmed what i have learned in talking to a health care provider and a lawyer friend. Instead of freaking out why dont we look at the facts.

Companies that employ less than 50 full time employees are exempt.

The information is out there, but I don't expect Jeff Cochran or any of the other chicken littles to find it (even though it is all over the internet -.gov sites, reputable news sources NOT FOX NEWS).

It's easier to crow on about how terrible Obama is and how he is hindering their business.

Lol Jeff. Eat a freaking Zebra cake and calm down. You will be surprised by how little your life and business are effected [that one is for you, bucknut] by Obama being reelected. But I guess it is easier to blame someone else for your ignorance.

I wish the best for you and your business, and hope that you take some of the energy used for vitriol and hatred, and apply it to the success of your ventures.

God Bless,

Spoken like a true christian.

Thanks for the reddit link, pigwot. I wonder if reddit is part of the "liberal media" and thus can't be trusted? ;}

The real question is whether being forced to pay for healthcare provided by a for profit corp, makes as much sense as paying a non-profit single payer nationalized provider like Canada does?

Shall we feed off the sick and elderly like cannibals?

Do Hippocratic oaths have any more meaning than oaths of office at this tea party?

Honor among cannibals?

I just read a whole lotta hollapallo. On the buzz I am always hearing about all the work and backlog dudes are going on about Statesside. On the other end of the coin, there is complaining about being in the red and struggling. Same dudes. It just doesn't make sense being in buisness and not making a profit. I am certainly not judging folks about the new chosen government, but from my experience the striving for material wealth and living beyond one's means have always been the downfall of many businessmen. Blaming one's Government is not going to solve this problem ( did I say I hate politics, most politicians are but mere figureheads anyway BIG BUSINESS runs countries IMHO certainly they influence major decisions one way or another ). All America has to do if they really want change, now here this it's just my opinion which I am entitled to, is to follow the footsteps of conservative, fairly socialist countries like Canada, Switzerland and Sweden to name a few. These countries know how to care for their citizens, young and old. Healthy and diseased, able and disabled. Getting bent out of shape after a major election, only builds the blood pressure and opens oneself for some good old fashioned stress. Take a grip, and take responsibility for the part one plays in the way the business is run. Ask for help if necessary, sometimes we are missing the mark by making wrong choices when building and expanding. Just saying, and this is not an attack personal or otherwise, just a perspective from a dude who travels extensively and know many successful buisness owners. Whoever said life is easy didn't live. Anything that comes too easy usually is fleeting. I know most arborist and tree workers are very hardworking honest folks, so lets not go there. Keep positive buzzers.

I highly recommend the documentary called "Escape Fire: The Fight To Rescue American Healthcare".
Just saw it at the Rehoboth Film Festival (here for tthe weekend instead of the TCIA Expo).
It is compelling as to how to reduce health care expenses and live longer. We spend double what the avrage industrialized nation spends on health care and our health results are pitifully low on the list, like 50th in the world.
They rpesented a lot of good information.

Haha, Jeff I sent you a PM with a bit of tongue and cheek trying to apologize for always getting on you, it went unanswered. Its all good though after reading your latest BS I realize we just arent the same kinda people!

What a joke!

No nick, you and Jeff certainly don't seem to be" the same kinda people." Jeff usually posts about relevant topics and offers useful info or opinions. You seem much more inclined to personal attacks and juvenile silliness. For the record, I don't know Jeff, except through treebuzz. He seems like a good guy, possibly still under the delusion (like me) that one can still get ahead by working harder and/or smarter than the other guy. How hopelessly outdated that notion is, now that getting ahead makes you someone to be hated rather than admired by "the voting majority of our country".

Seriously though, I admire your concern for the welfare of the children. I can't tell you how many times my six year old has been on Disney.com, just waiting for me to leave the room so he could secretly get on treebuzz to satisfy his craving for "credible information about trees". It never stops with these kids.

Ok what is everyone worried about- that group will riot eventually the shooting will commence and it will be in their hood.....why don't you be patient sit back and just make some popcorn Jeff
