how do you set this up?

no sewing machine available. Anyone know a supplier that carries such an ankle strap. I was thinking about making one out of rope but I think webbing would dissipate the load better and be a little more comfy.

If all you want is an ankle strap I do have an extra. A production model as a matter of fact, very well built too. you wont find a better built ankle strap anywhere. It was used only as demonstration unit for videos. Originally cost about $20 bugs with shipping I'll give it to you for $10 across the board.

PM your address and you should have it next week.

here is one I made up using a CMI foot ascender. I used the left foot ascender but I doubt it would really make any difference. It works ok but I don't know if I'm really a convert. I love my I'D and RADS. Anyone know if a second foot can be incorporated into RADS? Now THAT would be slick...

I'm sure it could be done some how. Experiment and come up with a solution, or bust.

For short ascents it's pretty simple to cross your left foot on top of your right so that you use both legs to ascend.

For longer jaunts I put the footloop onto my Uni and clip into the chest ascender and frogwalk.

I got whoozy watching the moving camera...blech!

Open up your copy of ON ROPE and find the related diagrams.

I think that the top is just a simple chest box made from a small pulley...but I may be wrong.

Sorry about the vid Tom it was taken on a phone . Its aversion of the texas rope walker though i am sure Scott has modifded it scince.

Thanks to Gerry B i now have a doubled rope walker as well...brilliant.
Hope he don't mind i posted his vids on Arb talk UK.

Rob,

Thanks for putting up the video. The gyroscopes in my head can get set-off with the least notice. Even though the video wasn't clear I could see what was going on. And...look at what the original post has turned into!

Indeed.

I ended up using a CMI foot box, which has a faulty design of having very sharp metal which eventually tears the straps. Also cannibalized a old foot loop used from a handled ascender, fully adjustable. Love it!!

ok let me help

mini trax on top

basic in the middle with left foot loop

pantin on right foot with a pice of elastic cord going from the pantin up through biner on mini trax and down to the basic

this way when you drop your right foot it pulls up the basic attached to the left foot

it helps if you use a serpentine style chest mount for your mini trax because thats what holds you upright. With some good practice one could make it look good.

Pretty well nailed it except instead of a biner on the mini trax a small pulley instead.
Mine has a crool instead of the mini trax.
Also the basic has a runner to the harness biner as life support.
Will try to get so pics up soon.

What a smile !!
