How would anyone know that? How much for the thing from K&R?

That CT pulley cannot be used or spliced to like the pinto. Very different items. Also the retrieval ball cannot pass through it like the pinto.

I got both and I use pulley saver alot more.It depends on the person and there climbing style for sure.I recommend buy both and use the tool that fits the job.

Just buy a goddamned pulleysaver and stop trying to reinvent the wheel.

I just finished making one with Jim who splices for Shelter Tree. We came up with a real versatile design that can be used in a multitude of ways. It can be set from the ground, and even "soft" retrieved if you're working over hard-scape. It also doesn't require a retrieval ball so it's compatible with a few more pulleys other than the large pinto.
I have not yet posted any photos on the buzz, but I'm happy to give it a try if anyone is interested...

I'll get to it as soon as I can. Perhaps a video on youtube for the "soft" retrieval...

Pretty clever!!! I don't think it'll be easy to bring the throw weight back down 70 feet and redirected through a bunch of branches though. And that's alot of hardware going through the crotch on retrieval. But still cool.

you can get a rope wrench for less money and be much happier and wealthier/healthier ;)

Can't wait to get these two goodies for Xmas the pulley saver and rope wrench will get me way more versatile in the new year. I can see the advantage in the rope wrench for pruning SRT and working down spars but I still like climbing dDrt for fitness and it can really be a blast in certain trees. IMO. Paul.

Thanks for looking! I hear what you're saying about the dense crown situation, but everything stays nicely inline if you descend through a relatively direct path...I can't say enough that every tree is different, and requires different systems.

I love the versatility of the Shelter Tree system, and the ring to ring portion even comes in handy for SRT climbing. It can be retrieved as a single length rather than having to isolate both sides of line when retrieving from an Alpine Butterfly over a branch.

Swingdude, I agree with you about still loving DRT here and there...there's something natural feeling about SRT and DRT. I'd be reluctant to ditch one style all together.

Whatever tickles your fancy Gibson, love your videos BTW they are shot with passion have watched them all. You are from Canada correct? I can see the advantages of the rope wrench and I ain't staying in the back of the pack. Innovations are da bomb thanks Kevin.B. Paul.
