[ QUOTE ]
I ask in my message for a name, address, and ph#, and no. of stumps. Saves me a ton of time if I get all my info. I can write it down and hit the road, and they can yap yap yap as long as they want. It works about 50% of the time. Most the time its everything but the house number, or a cell number, and then it 20 questions and a lonely old person who just wants someone to talk to.
[/ QUOTE ]
Ha!
It doesn't only happen to me.
I think I'm going to be more directive with my out going message and insist that people leave a short message with just the contact information. When, I call them I can find out more information. After all, the rambling type will ramble on the voice mail for 5 minutes, then ramble for 20 when you call. So, at least I could cut out 5 minutes here or there...
--Of course, I'm exaggerating here, but the principle applies. A little bit of time saved while listening to the messages can save when I'm getting about 10 calls per day, during the busy season.
