Hitch Hiker Brake Bar

Great idea! You are a true inovator and are always pushing for better. I for one, have tried many of your inovations and thank you for your dedication and contributions.

Interested in the results. My initial thoughts are that it will decrease hitch binding and be awesome for swings and raps, but may slow down the tending some.

Great work as always

This is a hickory brake bar that I'm testing. It's a little chunky for strength, but works very good. It only takes one hand to use, and there's nothing to drop. It can take all the weight off of the hitch when used.

Forgot to add that the HH dogbone is probably too short to work, after doing more measuring.

Is it enough to make a two-person load manageable on the device? If so, that could be multipurpose.
Once you get a not prototype version, see how it acts under a RW and RR.

Can't you just buy brake bars from somewhere?

The original ones were made from a rack bar that happen to fit the non locking oval carabiners made at the time. Their use is,was frowned upon because that is the only thing used to rappel, no back up. They are for sale on eBay occasionally.
I don't think they generate enough friction for two people.
They should work the same for all devices and configurations, because it uses the tail of the rope, and doesn't interfere with what you're using.
