@rico, do you end up with the recommended ~1.5" (I
think that's how much it is) between the bottom wrap of the hitch and the body of the HH
after setting/weighting it?
When I ran it like that with the standard HH hitch, it tended so poorly that my over-the shoulder webbing strap tender would leave bruises. But the upside is that it would
never fail to engage when sitting into it. I wasn't far enough along in my climbing education at the time for that not to freak me out (when it would fail to grab upon setback), so I didn't depart much from the 1.5" guideline.
