I have no previous correspondence with you, but coincidentally met your brother (Matt I am pretty sure) at Arbor Expo in western MA a few weeks back. We had a nice chat. He mentioned he was brothers with the "guy who invented the rings". Never heard of three brothers owning separate tree businesses in the same county. Pretty neat. Cheers
ahhhhh ! That thing is dangerous! I do not recommend. I thought it was great for a while. The company promotes that it will not release under a load, for safety. Well guess what? If the button on the remote is hit, the choker bell is a ticking timebomb. What i mean is, if the button is hit accidentally, as soon as less pressure is on the choker bell, it then pops open. I was at the risk of being killed many times. On a crane pick, this happened, when the wind caused the choked pieces to move and slide, there was a brief moment of less tension on the sling and the choker bell opened up, dropped the two limbs crushing a farm gate. I still need to contact the company and tell them that they need to pull this tool off the market or be very clear that this can happen. I want to give them the chance to be open to the public about it first, then if they don't , I will. I have a lot of video from the job site explaining what happened, then I experiment and re-enact it.Xman, did you ever figure out your remote release for k-boom picks?
who's ur boss?Hi Dave, I know ya don't know me but I'm pretty sure your old friends with my boss.
I really appreciate you coming back too. Hope u stick around bro!
@theXman you letting me crash on your property as a total stranger, still young and wet behind the ears, to come work with you for a few days will forever be a top moment for me. Definitely helped shape how I treat those coming up after me and sharing what I know and passing things on. I still have and use a bunch of the rings you gave me on that trip, and my wife still laughs at how I said pay me in rigging rings instead of money!
Yup, that was my brother Matt then. Yup, 3 of us with 3 different companies in the same county.I have no previous correspondence with you, but coincidentally met your brother (Matt I am pretty sure) at Arbor Expo in western MA a few weeks back. It looks like that if you click on the person's name, it shows the joined date. But you probably know that and want it shown easier I suppose. The 'Join Date' used to be regularly displayed, iirc. Seems like it contains meaningful info for forum members.
