Rare earth magnets taped to the last couple of inches of all my silky scabbards. No more saw falling out. (Thanks Tom Dunlap for that one.)

Merle (and Tom Dunlap), thanks for this tip. It sounds like a great idea. I'm assuming you use duct tape or superglue to hold the magnets to the outside of the scabbard?

If it's some other arrangement, I'd love to hear what it is. Thanks in advance.

Tim, I happened to use high quality plumbers (2 inch wide black tape.) One magnet on one side wasn't quite enough, so I put a second on the inside. (1.5 inch discs.)
