C. tomentosa/alva came out of black container at left with root rot. Plant looked fine otherwise
 
Hi, looking for some opinions on what this might be. Learning as I go. It's on a Red Oak. I wondered if it was Inonotus dryadeus or a type of Ganoderma? Can see old conks that are blackened as well. Large dead/dying limbs in crown. Inside of conks is a rusty red colour. TIA.

Not bugs and crud, but interesting. We had a bad flood which washed away a lot of mulch and soil. Here is the root establishment of a #15 Catalpa speciosa after two seasons.
