Help me find a \'biner

I'm looking for a 'biner. Can you recommend the right one:

Steel
Triple Locking (not screw locking)
No-snag style (key-lock)
Pear/HMS Style

Any ideas?

Are we going on a fishing trip, eh? /forum/images/graemlins/grin.gif

For all of my personal fall protection I like the Petzl Ball Locking Biners. They seem to be the easiest to open when you want them to and least likely to open when you don't want them to.

But the ISCs don't meet Nick's "key-lock" criteria.

Nick, there are a few near the bottom of the second section (Carico pesante) of Kong's page I linked-to above. Search for those made of steel with the symbols

Re: Help me find a \'biner

Tom,

I guess we're not on the same page regarding what "key-lock" is. All the ISCs I recall seeing had the pin through the end of the gate which fits into a (snagging) slot on the body. If that's a key-lock then I apologize. Maybe what I'm thinking of would be a tee-lock (non-snagging), if that's a real term. When Nick specified non-snag I assumed he wasn't talking at the horribly-snagging pin-lock (if that's a real term) as used on the ISCs and DMMs of my familiarity.

Both triple locking steel? The first looks like a prototype I saw at Baltimore a couple years ago. Are they available to the general public now?

Oops, sorry, both of them are aluminum.

The red one is in production. I think Denny told me that it is made for Drayer in Germany but should be available through an ISC vendor.

Re: Help me find a \'biner

I hate to sound like a Kong fan-boy... I was just rooting around their web site. Hands-down the best, most sensible site design I've encountered in quite some time! Makes me wonder if I've got an I-tie twin I don't know about. :)

Also cemented my idea of what a "key-lock" is.

I have only two Kong 'biners in my small collection. One in steel configured exactly as Nick had originally outlined, and one pear-shaped non-locker I use for chainsaw rear handles &c. The rest of my non-accessory 'biners are all Petzl ball-locks, which I'd quickly settled on as the best-of-breed for my money.
