Helmet cam help

The vids I have on here where all shot with the HD170.Make sure your editing software supports MOV. files. I like it. You won't be disappointed.

I've had a hd170 and didn't have any problems with it. It mounted to my vertex vent nicely with industrial Velcro. A big plus for the 170 is the remote, worked perfect all the time. I recently started using an HD hero and I'm a little more parshel to it. It's smaller, lighter and comes with a rechargable battery. I really wish it had a remote but the buttons are easy enough to use even with gloves. Both have the same picture quality in my eyes. So really the size of the 170 is its only downfall.

Looking into helmet cams, leaning towards a drift hd170. Anyone using one? Pros/cons? Thanks

wouter here aka treestyler uses a nice camera that gives a realistic view of the work (not fish eye or extra wide angle). Not sure what brand is? He posted a couple vids a few months back in the vid forum, he might tell you there?

Here's one of his vids

Ive attached my GpPro to my Y shaped chest harness. I find it doesnt get in the way at all and it still shows whats going on really well. Just a sugesstion since Gibson thinks its "gay". I found it did pull on my head a bit as it is rather heavy. I know there are also a lot of cam "glasses" out there. Be alright I guess if you have a visor of sorts to keep your eyes safe as i dont think they are meant for work! I have a few hunting buddies that have these and they suit the tree stand well.

In the big picture, none of the cameras mentioned aren't bulky on your head. Wanna lose the bulk? Get a POV... Tiny camera taped to your helmet but extra large battery/memory/lcd unit somewhere else on you, plus the most expensive of the bunch. Cameras are personal preference. My opinion they all record just about the same quality picture as long as the cam is a high def. Differences come field of view, remotes, armour ect.
In the end, no matter what cam you choose, all your friends you show the videos to that don't climb trees are gonna be ooooh'n and ahhh'n over 'em. And the ones that do climb trees... watch out, here comes the criticism!
