Did they stitch right through the fingernail? Or is that just the thread after a knot?

Glad to hear the Doc thinks its healing well. That looks rough.

Another visit to the doc today and not so good. Looks like some of the tip is going to be lost. Hoping the skin grows in under the mess or it's a graft for me!

It actually didn't hurt at the time. I was all set to keep working when I thought I should check to see if I broke the skin. As the glove came off the tip flopped over like a Pez dispenser....

Keep positive! Looks pretty painful. It seems I keep tearing up my left middle finger. Nothing quite so bad.

Whatever you do, listen to the doctors! Trying to get out and do when they say don't is probably the worst disservice you can do for your poor finger.

Agreed Fireaxe. I have been guilty of that but learned with my first really major injury to abide by what the docs say. No heroics cuz it really doesn't get better once you heal up. There is always ongoing issues. With my foot and wrist dislocations/fractures I had several surgeries for 7 years after and arthritis at the injury sites. That happened in my 20s and still effects me.

I'm seeing a hand specialist Monday so, I hope to get some better insight into what is going on and likely to be the outcome.

Thanks for all the support from the buzzers, I'm a positive person and live in the here and now when it comes to dealing with this sort of stuff. It's done and now I work with what is not what might be or could've/should've/would've been.

So, I continue to flip the bird to all and everyone as I drive around NJ.

I'm looking forward to seeing the hand doc Monday morning. I suspect it will be a series of tests afterwards then prompt action.

This kinda reminds of what extreme frost bite looks like.

Yuck, rotten meat there!!!! Sorry to see, you are going to loose some finger. I would think they are going to carve off that black area real quick, before it infects more tissue or bone.
