I can understand Eric felling those dirty things over climbing them any day.

Ed, they dull the chain quick but the biggest problem is that unlike a solid lump of wood pieces fall off and can be quite heavy and bust stuff under you ... like roof tiles etc. Do you remember that?

I remember one day I was cutting thru this palm head and a bit of butt flew off the end of the chainsaw (in a forwards direction) across and above the fence and arced in downward right onto the neibs roof ... bang! 2 busted tiles!!

Lucky the guy had heaps of spares but it was a bugger fitting them and wasted another hour. I try to get rid of the heads whole where possible but sometimes you just have to dice it up.

HA! I did exactly the same thing on one of my first - I was expecting the stuff to cut like wood, and it tore, dropped on the roof below and cracked a bunch of tiles.
I used to liken cutting palms to sawing a rolled up axminster carpet

Ed

I should have made a more specific reference to Brisbane. Ive also worked Australia afew times but only had a short stay in Brisbane. I was once bitten by a 'white tail' which is why I asked.

The reacurring sniping is all getting abit tired now. Im new to the site so I dont know what is at the root of it. However, there appears to be a danger that the threads which contain this type of ugly material (amuseing though they are sometimes) are eclipsing the truly objective ones which are soley tree related.

How has Ekka's palm felling transpired into Treeco's 'get lost punk' to MB, in such a short space of time.

Tell me to 'get lost punk' and mind my own bussiness if you like, and I will. However, please try to recognize that the combined abundance of tree related wisdom/experience of its participants, which could be implemented constructively for everyones benefit, is sadly being sacraficed in favour of this 'playground stuff', which exactly how it comes across.
A total waste of effort, surley.

I have some good tree stuff coming up in the new year, video/pics/a new product even, which I'd like to share on the site, but what's the point if knowone gives a f--- in favour of this trash. Call a truce fella's, or even better call each other on the telephone, clear the air and move forward.

A sincerely Happy New Year all, the last few have been particularly trying for me but here's hoping things come good in 07.
Regards. Reg.

90% of the work I did was in Brisbane. Ive family there so, staying was easy. I did get a nasty bite off a Golden orb spider, 'gave me a bit of a bad day' as the Aussies say.

Hey, great news everyone, Mr Ed has become civilized.

What a nice polite person he can be when he's not under the influence of the hideous treeturd MasterBlaster.

Mr Ed - welcome to treebuzz.

We are all your friends.

Thanks for the spider bite story - very interesting it was to.
