Heading out to Take the BCMA

I Scored an 80!!! More than enough to pass! And it looks like I'm also the first BCMA in Vermont. I'll take that too.

Time for a little celebration.

Congrats Rick!! Always good the be first in anything. First BCMA in Vermont should get you lots of business. Now to start collecting the required CEU's.

Awesome.... That's a big deal!

Just set my test date for the BCMA. You were brave to post right before you took it! I will wait until I pass to post!

So you missed 1 in 5 questions? Do it again!

JK man you are so welcome. You were well on your way before I stumbled along.

Now market that sucka. I just paid the second renewal fee. It's been a very good investment so far. ;)

I know! Damn, I'm not happy scoring less than a 97 or better...

What is even more frustrating is not knowing which questions I got wrong...can't learn if you don't know what's wrong!

Best scores (100) were on Climbing, Rigging & Removal; Irrigation; Business Relations and Inventory Management Plans.

Worse Scores (<=71) Abiotic influences, IPM, Support/Protection,Plant ID & Selection and Soil Science

I think pH and a couple other things killed me in the Abiotic. I choked on IPM, plain and simple. Support was ok but lightning protection...again simply choked even though I spent the weekend reading BMPs and other stuff on LPS.

I was not up on the family part of taxonimy so I know that hurt me and I knew I was short on my soil science so I'm not surprised but I thought I nailed the soil questions pretty well.

Anyhow, overall score good enough to pass!!!

Tough exam for sure, but not insanely. Hard part was reading the question for what it was and not inferring much, if anything from the image and scenario info.

I think there was one question that didn't need a scenario but one was presented anyway...that one almost caught me until I realized the question was a general question and had nothing to do with the scenario.

And yes, gotta market this mutha! I've asked for confirmation from ISA but according to the online "find a certified arbo" they have on their website there are no BCMAs in Vermont....that could very well make me the first! And THAT is something I can market!

you have to feel great, that is a major accomplishment!!!! congratulations!!! how many questions were there? any major areas they cover or all of them....you really should feel proud!!!
