...how many questions were there? any major areas they cover or all of them....

[/ QUOTE ]

165 questions of which only 150 count. the other 15 are new questions they are evaluating for inclusion in future tests. Only thing is they don't tell you which are the trial questions!

Topics touched on EVERYTHING but didn't seem to dwell on one particular area.

What I found interesting is I often couldn't look at a question and say, "AHA! This is a soil science question" or "this is a hazard question"

As with any multiple guess test there were lots of answer choices that were good so choosing the best was often tough.

I'm a pretty good test taker so when they told me I had 4 hours I figured I'd be done in 2-2.5.

I began to panic after the first hour when I realized I hadn't even gone through a quarter of the questions.

I ended up taking 3 hrs 10 minutes or so to finish the exam.

I am remiss in other thanks..

In my excitement I forgot to say thank you to a very special group of people...the crowd from ADVARBS!

Sylvia, Dave, Ed and Tchukki.

Thank you sooo much for you encouragement and in welcoming me to your study group.

Blessings to you all!

Re: I am remiss in other thanks..

Glad to have you in the fold Rick. I never would have passed without the Tchat/Advarbs gang!

Whats next? Join ASCA and chase RCA?

After I finish up my State licensing for Pesticides that is next!

Though I may go for my ISA Muni & Util credentials first which is a real possibility

Re: I am remiss in other thanks..

Does this mean we get to hear from you a little more often? We'd love to have you chime in on some of the random topics we've been kicking around.

Congrats, again on the new certification! Sorry you weren't the first in Vermont. I think I'm 4th or 5th or 30th or something in New Hampster. I certainly didn't break any land speed records in my state as far as the BCMA lineup. Good job!

Re: I am remiss in other thanks..

I see you are in vermont, where is your study group? I know I have been attempting to find a study group of sorts for the test in the future. Is it the Sylvia that is on treebuzz?, i thought she was in Montana? you really should be soooo happy, great job.

Re: I am remiss in other thanks..

You can not swing a dead cat here in NC without hitting a BCMA. I got Guy to the North and a slew of Bartlett to the South of me. Guess i'll settle for being the only BCMA on this small coastal NC island.
Looking forward to the study session tonight.

Re: I am remiss in other thanks..

Starlet, our study group has been meeting for close to 3 years now and has included members from Canada, Montana, North Dakota, New Hampshire, a barrier Island off the coast of South Carolina (Ed never misses an opportunity to put that one in...something about a lot of sunshine and surfing), Vermont, Germany and Norway.

We have been meeting via teleconference. We have had guest speakers and TONS of e-mail back and forth discussing issues.

A super way to broaden your horizons as we do not all have the same issues to deal with.

Sylvia

If you become a Muni or Utility specialst do you know if you have to pay recertification fees for those along with the BCMA recertification fees every three years? And what about CEU's, would you need to get CEU's for Muni, Utility, and BCMA?

I recently became eligible to take the BCMA exam, and I am hoping to take it in the next year or two. I am currently a CA and a Muni Specialist, and when I looked through the application packet for the BCMA exam those were some questions that came to mind.

Maybe it is a question for the ISA.

yes of course there is no crossover so you must sustain each independently. i just re-upped 4 certs at once and i gulped but did not cringe when writing check. all this info is on the ISA site in black and white.

just earned 11 CEUs in the last 3 days and will get a bunch of pricey ones next week.

Re: I am remiss in other thanks..

I knew Guy would have walked that maze already...isn't so much nicer to have the voice of experience speak rather than have to wade through some website?!?

I'm starting on my CEU's as we speak. I'm thinking of writing some regular articles...I hope a newspaper column counts as getting published. You think it qualifies Guy? ;-)

Re: I am remiss in other thanks..

No wading needed to get your info from the source. ;-)

Regular articles are good, but irregular ones are better. ;-))
