Has anyone tried Allgears rocket line?

I have some, got it as a free sample to test from Tom at AllGear.

It is a very nice rope. Nick spliced both ends for me, after he milked it.

I swap ends each climb, and it hasn't milked anymore.

it is a 11.5mm rope so it feel a bit bigger in the hand than a 11mm rope.

it is very wiry in feel, extremely firm, and I like that when climbing on it.

Dieselcutter here won a hank and he climbs on it too, I'm sure he will chime in here as well.

you won't be disappointed, Tom at AllGear has a good product.

I've been running Allgear climbing ropes exclusively now for a few years. I run the 24 strand pro-lite and my boy runs the rocket line.

Two words, can't complain.

You really can't beat the bang for the buck and the colors remain vibrant and visible. They also clean up very well.

I've used velocity, safetyblue, patriot and stuff from sterling. all of them good ropes all with pro's and con's. Same with the Allgear. So with all else being comparable, Allgear definitley gives the best bang for the buck

The rope is great stuff. It gets stiff when you climb on it and has very little stretch. The other 24 strand ropes are now constructed the same way as their rocket line. The neo lite and pro lite both now have the inner core as well. Great stuff runs smooth with hitches. I've been very happy with it as well as the all gear products.

great rope, price or not. before my rocketline, i have 2 tachyon lines, and 1 neopro, and they are all collecting dust!!! right now, climbing on it with kevin binghams rope wrench SRT, my favorite rope by far. Great price dont hurt though!

You know, in my line of work I can climb on any climbing rope I want....and I mean ANY line....

One of the most common questions I get are along the way of "what is the best rope out there?" or "what is your favorite rope?"

I always used to tell people that answering that question was like asking me to pick my favorite child, they are all a little different for different things.

HOWEVER, in this case the Rocket Line has proved to be a pretty fantastic rope. This rope has very little bounce and is very firm while climbing.

It does have a second core, similar to Tachyon, but in this case the second core is twisted as opposed to Tachyon which has three parallel strands.

Personally, I like it a lot. If you footlock or body thrust climb you will really notice the fact that you don't loose much energy to bounce on the rope.

For a lot of guys that climb on some sort of SRT setup, this rope has really given them something they have never had before.... A firm rope like a static line, but one that can be spliced and can be used for DRT climbing as well. It is almost like having two ropes in one.

Basically, for the money you can't beat it.

Understand, I still have a dozen rope bags with everything under the sun, and I still climb on Tachyon and Blue Moon or Blaze (both great ropes) but my favorite right now is Rocket Line.

The only problem is that now when I go climb with all these other guys (like Shawn) we will all probably have the same color ropes....

well i really want something drastically different then the 16 strand arbormaster ropes i have been climbing on. im thinking of a low stretch 24 strand but my question is how does rocket hold up to abrasion? from what i know is it's not a good idea to use a 24 strand with natural crotching and i natural crotch about 80% of the time.

We haven't seen that problem with any of our 24 strands. one of our guys natural crotches only and two of us both natural and false.

Key is cleaning the rope regularly. ours get washed every 6 to 10 weeks. More frequent when used in pitchy trees

what do you climb that you natural crotch most of the time Josh? FSers are easy to set and make working so much easier :)

do you do mostly removals? I'm guessing palms are most of your work?

mostly Albizia saman(monkey pod) soft bark eucalyptus and grevillea robusta's. all ranging from 30 feet high to 130 feet. i do alot of moving around in the tree.
the tree's here grow really wide so you cant really get one high TIP the tree so you need to constantly be re crotching to maintain proper rope angles. i have a steel ring FS and when i wanna move around i simply untie the standing end caribiner tie a over hand knot, pull the FS down and then re crotch it and tie my standing end back into my system.
when doing some jobs it gets times consuming to have to mess with a FS.
when passing limbs it is easier for me to just alternate between my lanyard and climb line and natural crotch all the way up.

i'm going to come to hawaii in a couple of months i love climbing trees like that! hook a brotha up. if you dry crotch a lot use velocity you will eat the rocket line. rocket line my new favorite. does it only come it the one color, john?

Yeah Jeff, it is only the yellow with red tracers, but it is a bright colour :)

I love that rope, it get's so wiry when you climb on it, not to much stretch.

the fly is like bungee cord. i wise man once told me: it not the arrow its the indian. that being said a high quality arrow is the bomb. sounds like you need to adjust your climbing and access system to work for you. the rocket line is the bomb, but i still fl on velocity cool.

I've climbed on my hank for a few months now. Loving it. I was a big fan of Tachyon before this came out, but now that I own a hank of Rocket Line, its my favorite. I've tried most(if not all) of the 24 strand climbing lines and can say hands down, Rocket Line is the da bomb!!! Like others have said, very firm, and the stretch is minimal. It's my favorite line from ascent to working to the tree, it is a great all around rope.

John pretty much outlined the construction of it, so I won't get into that.

I love the color. No matter during the day or night, it is an easy rope to spot and it literally appears to glow in the dark if the light hits it correctly.

Like everyone else says it's a firm line great with a pantin or other ascenders. Latex gloves a must for large hands, 200 feet has milked 3 feet so far almost ready to have other end spliced.

Yeah my 200footer milked literally 5 feet after I think 3 break in climbs. I rope walked it last weekend, I love it even more now. Hands down the best rope Ive ever owned. Cant beat it for the price either.
