Harness rental or buy it, try it, return it for minimal charge

I don't know if this would work in reality but I think it would be a really great concept. We all have bought them based on how much everyone else loves them. Then we try them out and while there is nothing wrong with the harness or the quality, it just doesn't work for us. Nothing we did nothing the manufacturer or vendor did, it just happens. Wouldn't it be nice if before you dropped big money you could fly in it for a day or a few to see if it will work for your style and body. Maybe there is something like this or some return policy that does the same thing but I am unaware of it. FYI, I like my Onyx but I might love something else. But at 4-500 bucks an attempt I'm in no rush to buy something without flying in it a while. Just a thought.

This has always been a problem. The only way I've moved up in saddles it so test fly a buddy's. This isn't easy when there aren't any saddles to borrow.

Expensive for vendors too. Liabilities would be a challenge. Then again...I've been around enough outdoor rec programs over the years that either rent or setup their students with gear.

I plan on trying as many as I can when I see Donney at Penn State next month. Lawyers are always the problem Tom, well them and the greedy people that drive them.

I agree Mac, or at least I did until I became a "fatty fatty no friends" over winter. I put on 15 lbs and everything went to hell. Luckily now that I am climbing more the lbs are shedding off and I am happy again with the Onyx. In fact you just posted a pic that could have been me. Twin bridge, dual ascenders, such a nice setup.

my trick was to study my work friends harnesses and buy and sell every make/type/brands etc that are out there, I bought 5 or 6 privately, and approx 30 off ebay, by having had every harness thats out there and made a clear profit on the lot, its worked out well for me, and I know alot of fine details good or bad on most.

One that works well on the treemotion build quality, is the material used, it is the most robust and forgiving thing to use in a tree, it does not skag, slides across bark and is super tough.
