Happy feel good

evo

Been here much more than a while
Location
My Island, WA
A few good years ago we pulled a dead grand fir over backwards. It was leaning over a buss stop and was pretty icky. As we were clearing the driveway I found the nest fragments, and started searching the area. I found 3 baby owl chicks no bigger than a golf ball size of fluff.
Once I find the photos of them as chicks I’ll post it here

The dam snail got me distracted and I started to fall asleep watching it and then "POP" they're gone.
Hard to play it back at 1/4 speed and that wasn't slow enough.

They survived the fall?
Truly amazing creatures.

As a younger lad, out pheasant hunting with the old man, he shot an owl.
I was sick over it.
Went to check on it and amazingly it was still alive.
I put a stick under it's chest and it hopped on.
I'm holding this stick with a grown owl sitting on it.
It was so light for it's size and struck me as truly majestic.
I raised the stick up to shoulder height and it flew away.
I'll never forget that day and stopped hunting with him.

We lost two, one didn’t make the impact and the other didn’t make rehab. I begged to be kept in the loop, and to be notified of the release but didn’t hear a peep about it until yesterday. The chick photos are dated April of 2015
