hacks and toppers

Ok I'll say it.

ASPLUNDH.

They left a monument to their practices standing in my front yard, so I guess it can't be libelous to point it out.

I've met some very nice and very knowledgeable people in their organization, and I guess that is why I hesitate to mention them.

you have that right most of the time there is no lateral at all, I talked to a very good friend of mine about this who Is a super for one of the companies the power company contracts. He admitted it looks like crap, but they get paid per mile to cut a certain distance from the wire and that’s it where it stops is where it is that’s it. Some guys care and try alittle harder but when they keep getting screwed by the bosses it drives down the morale and it shows in the work. Hell ive seen them leave dead sticks standing not only looks like crap but it is also dangerous

It sounds like there are a lot of people that spend their time worrying about other companies and how they run their business. I agree, it is frustrating to lose a job to them, because they are cheaper and don't care about the trees enough to educate themselves or the customer about what's good for the trees. Now is the time to focus on your own company and find ways to set yourself apart from them, and quit worrying about them. There will ALWAYS be tree butchers, as long as there are pickups and chainsaws. It is my job to educate my potential customers with my literature, my website, or the resources of the ISA and TCIA, among others. The people who are willing to pay a little more for a professional service are the customers we all want, not the people who are taking the cheapest price no matter what.

dear x-man,

I think I'm just what you guys need.

I've been reading this tree-buzz for a few months now.

This post and Toms speach has made me sign up today, and I'm going to get active.

I have an idea I want to start on another post.

(x, i private message you)

hmmm, how ironic.......

It was the bradford pear thing, that got me reading the Tree Buzz in the first place. I was doing some research on Tree Topping, and someone pointed me to Tree Buzz to check out the Bradford Pear Topping Battle going on.

I was happy to see people oppose it, and again, not pleased to see certain people saying that it was okay.

I hope we don't get back into the Brad-pear thing though. just very ironic to me.........

I agree totally Noel.Sometimes the frustration of losing jobs to guys like that makes you angry. But i thought about it from there shoes a little and are probably just trying to feed there family and pay them bills.I get annoyed when i see the guys who know better doing crappy work.Or I lose a job to a company because of a lower price and its not apples to apples. But its the nature of the beast and I guess its good to have a short memory in this buisness.Good job Hollen reaching out like that.Maybe you too can finally bury the hatchet.

Cool man you got a great cause its gonna change the world.Im sure youll find alot of support around here and yall do great things.

that’s all good i was talking about the power line clearance mostly though like nelson, Lewis etc they are supposed to be educated all the way around. If you ride down the roads here in jersey u cant tell, but there is quite a few hackers in the private sector i just look and laugh. the new thing up here is cheap labor they get illegal’s and throw them in a tree its sickening i wish they would start enforcing the laws and heavily fining the people that pick them up and work them i could ramble forever about this.

thank you also crazy Jim!

Now, it's late, I'm going to climb up to the top of my tree and go to sleep.

until tomorow
