So we are getting a commercial site within a city. Main purpose is to park trucks centrally in a highly visible area and dump chips and wood near by. I'll be the first tree service with a presence in town. My current yard on my property is a 60 mile round trip. I will be paying $500/month rent. Just the savings in fuel will come close to the cost of rent.
Going to share 1 acre lot with a landscaper. We get 3 giant covered bins each. A bin will hold like 100yards.
I'm looking for new extra means to help pay the rent.
Besides selling/installing 2"+ caliper trees, I was thinking of green waste recycling ideas.
The city has no green waste recycling. People have to bring their brush 15miles/20minutes to the county landfill and pay $20 for a pick up bed full, if it is too full they charge $40.
Easiest way to make compost, mulch? I think the land owner is letting us use a 50hp skid steer with a 1/2 yard bucket. This place has always sold mulch. Up to 1000yards in a season. Mulch gets about $40/yard dumped in your truck. You can not get good compost within an hour. That's $50/yard an hour and a ferry ride away.
What ideas experience do folks have?
