I've used mine for a couple of years and have no complaints. It was around $150 with another hundred bucks in shipping. I've put as much on it as my old body can push and nothing has bent or broken and it's much lighter than the Sherrill cart.

If you're looking for something that is built to last I'd go with the Sherrill. The big drawback is weight. I take mine to almost every job and I can lift it and throw it in the dump or trailer or slide it in the back of the van on top of my climbing gear without breaking anything. The downside on either cart is that they have to be shipped truck freight and that generally means that someone has to wait around to physically receive the shipment.

i might be sold on those otter sleds tom. they look a little more hard core than the JET sled. The one thing that i dont like is that the top is not flat. I like using the JET sled as a top over gear or as a shell. I am not sure that I could do that with the otter. The space saving attribute of the sled as opposed to wheeled things is what I like most. Having them adds more space, they are space savers.

It doesn't take much impact to break the handle off the crank

Yeah, after that day I won't make a cut if I see any GRCS attachment close by.

The handle holder I made (the leather one) is weak enough that when a branch gets lowered on it, the leather will rip. It will be sad, but the handle will still be in perfect condition.

Have you actually tested that? The aircraft aluminum(i guess thats what its made of) doesn't take much to break. it looks like there is the potential to create a lot of leverage to snap the swivel handle off if the right piece of wood impacts it. Even if the leather did give there is still the chance of the piece still falling on it. You might be able to store it like that for the life of the GRCS and it never break but i still wouldn't take the chance. We used to place ours between the tree and the strap until a butt end swung/pivoted and came down on top of it.
