Grcs storage

Nice job, Ben! Looks like there's room for all but the bar for tightening the load strap? I'm sure that thing could be cut shorter and made into a 2 piece bar with a sleeved attachment and it would all fit into the case.

Thanks! Yeah, the bar is just a few inches too long. I toyed with the idea of cutting it off a little or fashioning a holder to the outside of the box. Haven't done either yet.

The shorter bar wouldn't give you sufficient leverage to tighten the strap as much as is needed. I like the idea of a 2 piece bar, something like a pool cue.

I use a rectangular milk crate but am not satisfied with it.

Ben, that looks nice and very tidy, definitely looks worth the money. How long have you had it for? I guess it's guaranteed for life so it's probably pretty sturdy.
Thanks for posting the pics.

I've had mine for a few months. It's already outlasted any other plastic container I tried. Tree Humper, you think 3-4 inches would make that much difference? I do like the idea of the two piece bar. Dang Eric, every time I come up with an idea, he comes up with a better one.

Eric you are to me the outstanding contributor to this forum. You have made me question the validity of my climbing systems plenty of times and I have learned a lot from you. Also I still love your rope wrench tether

The relationship between lever length and moment is linear and therefore directly proportional. The bar is probably 34" in length since it's likely the standard winch bar . That would equate to a reduction of 10-11.5% of moment.

I'm thinking about that last pull to tighten the strap and think it would be the difference of getting that one last click on the ratchet.
