Got it but haven't use it yet

Re: Got it but haven\'t use it yet

You know how you got something new and don't want to get it dirty... ya like that. Perhaps tomorrow with a climbing pulley so it don't get dirtybarksicosis.

Re: Got it but haven\'t use it yet

Ricky tree let me know what you think of the imori? I have had it for awhile and curious to see how other climbers feel about it. Thanks. Have a good one.

Re: Got it but haven\'t use it yet

I liked it. I had a 150' piece with an eye splice and it was good for both crane work and SRT wrenching.

Alas, I gaffed it a couple times and now the spliced end is a dog leash.

I really did like it - felt great, very supple, not very stretchy at all. As I mentioned in the Fly thread going on right now, I may try out the shorter, splice-less pieces for spar-pole removals, keeping the long ropes I haven't damaged (yet) away from my somewhat clumsy spiked-feet.

It's such a pretty rope, I understand the fear to dirty it, but mine stayed bright for maybe 4 months of regular usage.

I also had a 150' of it, like Winch said its was good with the wrench, footlocked very good! I would buy again, the only negative I can think of is it milked like crazy! Oh and if you knick the rope with a silky, you have to retire it... or make it a designated SRT line :)

Re: Got it but haven\'t use it yet

Good to know. Didn't get to using it today cause of bad weather but will post when I do. Ya spurring the rope sucks, spurred the GRCS strap once. That really thraul'd me.

Re: Got it but haven\'t use it yet

I've had a 200' length of Imori for almost a year. I use it for SRT access then I switch it over to a dorsal safety line.

Basically, I love it:

Feels great in the hand, especially nice for a RADS

Supple from the getgo, good with knots

For SRT, less bounce than Arbormaster, feels solid and efficient

I'm told that it has especially good specs for safety impact loading, but I really can't judge this.

But forget all that. The HUGE REASON I like it is that all of my mechanicals work better. Smoother. Less fussy. Less balky. As a safety line, an ISC Rocker follows me like a new puppy rather than my fussing with it all the time on Arbormaster. Don't get me wrong, I like my Arbormaster, absolutely. But anytime that I have a mechanical that is specified OVER A RANGE, it works better on Imori. By range I mean 11.5 to 13mm, for example. Since the Imori is slighly undersized from 0.5", everything feels like I've given it a little squirt of WD-40. Terrific.

BUT BEWARE: for mechanicals that are specified as one size, Imori is a bad choice. I have a Klimair (speced at 1/2 inch) that works like a charm on Arbormaster but won't take a reliable set on the Imori.

I would definitely buy it again.

Re: Got it but haven\'t use it yet

I climbing with IMORI six months, rope is verry light, soft. Design as hand-knitted sock, cool :o) Prusik 8mm Beeline,OP work great. But i can´t recomended splice two eyes, because cover moving on the core.
Cheers!
