Gold Rings on Sequoia

I often move my lanyard from the side D-rings to the D-rings that hole the bridge together on my T.M. harness. I hate using the lanyard in the upper D-rings. Especially if the lanyard is slightly higher than the D-rings. It will creep up to the ribs. So, therefore, I ususally lanyard into stuff using the lower D-rings that are in the bridge.

Can one safely lanyard into the gold rings on the Petzl Sequoia? Wouldn't it be the same as cliping into the bridge anyhow?

I'm thinking of trying (buying) one.

The webbing on my T.M. is getting scary.

Petzl specifically states that this is ok in their technical fact sheet (page 5). The only requirement, which by the way is the same for the side D's, is that they be used in unison (both O rings or both D rings) but never as a single tie in point; i.e., a single D ring or a single O ring.

x3. I don't use them as often as the side D's, but now that I've heard some good things about them I think I'll give them a go tomorrow.

Thanks for that info Dave. Perfect.

Hey Jamin!! I've been rock'in the sequoia for roughly 6 months now. All in all, a good saddle, though I don't know if it's worth the $400 or so they charge for them now. For that amount of $$$, it seems like you'd be better off with a TM or possible a TA3. But if you get it adjusted right, it's a very comfortable saddle. And if you even think you'll get into SRT, definitely get the SRT version. I have the DRT version that I bought of familytree and really wish I could add the suspenders for not only SRT, but to help spread the weight out when carrying a saw.

Oh, and the large Caritool is an awesome accessory biner to carry the saw on. Works great on the Sequoia!!

I attach the chain saw in the rear, and use the caritool for the 'short' attachment to keep it close. Works fine for me. The smaller one doesn't get stuck on much for me, but I can see how the larger one could.

I use the web loops on my Butterfly as a lanyard attachment point; it works about the same as the rings on the Sequoia.
