Dave, I'm guessing no response because this was discussed to death for so long, it was the vampire thread and would never die.

Oh yeah, I know. I was so annoyed that it was over in "Awakenings" which I never read that I didn't notice it was such a very old thread. Really there ought to be a database or maintained list of known defective life-safety gear. Old threads just sink into the swamp of a forum and become fossils.

Thanks for the heads up dave. I wasn't aware of the problem and have a couple gold rings in my bag, luckily I never got around to putting them on my saddle.
