besides, who can resist a conversation about boobs?

Patagucci and Parna clothing are well worth the money. I've spent more for less. Think cost not price. Patagucci, I thought that was a Chicago thing, you know bangers wearing it on the street corner.

Okay, I'm jumping in, but I don't have any feedback on bra types. I need a suit of armor for myself, but anyway, I was wondering what you ladies thought about having our own thread topic. I think it would be cool to have it be a way for Women Of The Trees (WOTT) members to communicate and feel comfortable doing so.

Of course everyone could be welcome, including the guys, but we might need to appoint Master Blaster as the body guard of the thread. Maybe he could keep the guys in line so we could actually talk about underwear without the boy's giggling commentary.

(No offense to the men who actually had good advise!) And I'm just kidding boys, I laughed at your bra jokes!!

I e-mailed Kiah about a WOTT topic, but I haven't heard back from her. I think she must have a hard time getting to her e-mails. I also mentioned it to Mark and he was thinking the same thing. He was going to try and get in touch with her.

Kathy, do you talk with her at all? Or how about anyone else? What do you all think?

that sounds cool, good idea.

do you mean a thread or a whole seperate section?

[/ QUOTE ]

I meant a whole sepperate section. That way you could really get some regional connections going and talk internationally too. I have a group of about 30 women in the Western Chapter who are made up of climbers and arborists who want to talk trees, climbing, professional stuff and plus get connected with other women out there that are in this industry.

I know its kind of silly, but when I saw this thread I realized that's the kind of stuff that I have no one to talk to that I work with. Right now the newly forming group I have communicate by e-mail, but only a few write back. Having a forum like Tree Buzz I think would really work for us and get women to speak up and feel comfortable asking questions!

i know kiah does the work of like 3 people, half of it unpaid so i imagine that's why you haven't heard back. i'm not in touch with her beyond our little annual retreat (ITCC).

i am really solidly of two minds about this important issue. a forum for women's issues in the industry would be awesome, because i know that it can be intimidating to some women to post on TB at all, let alone about woman-specific issues. but i guess i just picture a women's topic forum right now being empty. it's the chicken and egg thing, or the build it and they will come thing. maybe there are more women lurking than i think there are. i hope so!! i would love to be proven wrong on that count.

i guess what would be most awesome to me is if some of you lurking women stepped up to post your concerns w/o a topic-segregated forum.

how about this - i volunteer to be the "bodyguard" for any woman who posts a thread. and i'm a moderator.i would be willing to bet money, especially based on some of the comments above, that there is more than a small handful of guys on this site who would step up to help keep things civil too. there isn't anyone who wants women on this site more than i do. i just would hate to see a special forum empty.

of course, this is just the two cents of one member of the site. just me thinking out loud..

what do the lurkers have to say? would you more willingly post your questions/concerns/comments/networking efforts if there were a special area on the site dedicated to your concerns? anyone?

k.

ps thanks JZ for initiating this dialogue.
