Interesting. I see they're only rated at 881 lbs, yet the slings are Dyneema. What gives? Must be a really tiny diameter sling?
BTW, Nick- props on your IT skills. I'd have trouble posting a picture, much less screenshots and links. But I'm not that bright....and getting old

Now I see the largest size handles 3300#. Is it just me, or does that still seem low for Dyneema?

thanks for the support guys! I bring a product to this industry and you search for something similar. The first thing you find close to it you want to jump on it.

All that matters is something cheaper, right?

I have been told that there are plenty of rings/thimbles out there and many are cast. Most of the generics are cast and have a seam in the middle that could stimulate a rope to break. Antals are good quality.

I'm still flying the X Rings David! I don't know the difference and honestly I don't care. I've put your rings through hell and some of that hell is documented on video. I know they can take a beating and keep coming back for more. Thanks David for bringin your rings to the industry.

I couldn't care less, would never have found them ( wasn't looking ) and certainly would never have figured out a use for them quite honestly....not much of an inventor, just let those so inclined to come up with stuff like this. So I will stick to supporting my friend Driver and his VISION....No skin off my alligator back....whoever wants to run down this ANTALS road is obviously free to do...I have always given Jack his Jacket, and in this case I feel satisfied that I will support the X/Rings....Do what you like folks it's a free world as we know it....

DD, did you design and produce the X-Ring? Are you maintaining that it is not the pictured item from Antal?

Tophopper, I do not have the facility nor machine equipment to produce the rings. I never said I did. I never said I was the creator of the ring, some people did assume it, but look back over all the written language in anything EVER posted.

I had an idea in the begining, have something made that is light weight and cheaper than blocks, but tough.

I searched and found a company that made something that would answer this. They worked with me and they produce the X Rigging Rings for me and also sell similar rings to the marine world as it is their product and they did all the work of producing the ring.

I used them for about a year. Tested different sling material and abused them.

Found great uses for them.

Spent thousands of dollars on testing and promotion once I found that we had great combinations.

Greg Good did not make the capstan winch on the GRCS. Yet, he put it on a plate of steel and introduced it to the arborist industry. (and I'm so thankful that he did. For many years I actually thought he made the winch too, until I saw those winches on a sailing site).

I introduced this unique ring to the arborist industry and tested it and have it matched up with the best sling material for the job.

I have insurance on this product and stand behind it.

If you find a product component in another industry that fills a need in the arborist industry, please work with it, abuse it, spend thousands of dollars on it, then promote and offer it to us if it works and I'll buy it AND thank you.

" Oh we caught you" was never the intention.

2 very similar products were presented and I only wanted to know the origin of yours. You quickly became very defensive, and you still havent really answered, nor do I expect you to or care if you choose to or not.

I actually think your idea / product is very innovative and I commend you for putting it together. I did however find it a little fishy that your rings were exactly the same as others, from dimensions, ratings, and size stampings. The only real difference was the name. Am I not allowed to inquire about the origin? Did you not figure this would come to light at some point?

And obviously Greg Good does not produce the Capstan winch on the GRCS. If he had made the claim that he did, I imagine his name would be on that part of the tool rather than the steel mounting plate, so that point of yours is moot.

I wish you luck with your venture. Id give you some advice but Im sure you couldn't handle it, so I'll just check out and stay out of your way. Cheers.

What I have never figured out about the grcs is why Greg can sell the whole grcs for almost less than the winch alone costs at west marine.
