GAA -- TCC

And the Master's winner is .......... Matt Hodges. Way to go spaceghost.

I will try to get the listing of all competitors’ scores on this thread ASAP.

BUT First, AWSOME job to the GAA. It was a great day. A bit wet in the morning, but I got a sun tan by late afternoon. Thanks for the Fun.

Cheers!

What a day! Started at 5:30 with a call from Scotty and TC. Rich and I headed over to Waffle House for chow. Pantheraba came in with a big smile. Scotty and TC brought the rain with them from Florida it seemed. But...by the time we got to the TCC site the rain was drifting east. Within a little while the rain was down to mist and then the clouds broke up leaving us with a sun tan day. Good thing we got the sleevless t-shirts I guess.

There were lots of smiles and hoots during the day as usual. Several rookie climbers came to compete and learn. A tip of the hat to them! One of the fellas had never footlocked but still gave it a go...but only a short one. Maybe next year he'll have practiced a bit and be able to get up into the tree. Still, the spirit and heart of the rookies and vets was strong.

Three climbers moved onto the MC. Rich, Jim Bruner and myself setup the MC. Not too difficult and what a wonderful tree. The oak would do honor as an ITCC tree too!

Everyone got a prize from the vendors. There was a raffle for a bit of booty for the judges, techs and other volunteers. I sure would have liked to have won that really nice PINK throwbag :) Lots of support!

This morning Rich and I got up for breakfast at The Flying Biscuit. Afterwards we went to the Tree Climbers INternational school grounds for a little more climbing. Rich just left to start his drive back to Ohio via Biltmore.

What a treat to see the big crowd of Treebuzzers at the comp. I'm sure that we'll see a pic sometime today.

Thanks, Paul. There was an ugly little pug hanging around, actually!

Should be loads of pics coming as I saw a lot of cameras going around. Pretty funny I'll bet with the GAA muscle shirts on. Easy-P drew some pretty badazz tattoos on his brother Simon and we all got sunburnt. It was awesome.

We took a BuzzPhoto; hopefully we'll see that soon.

Matts not going to miss any work due to lack of ropes or chainsaws.

Theres only one more picture I need to see. Rich, you know what it is!

Rain, rain, go away....

Hmmmmm..... I wonder which one that could be???

Here is quite possibly the most BAD AZZ Asplundh employee on the planet.

Here is one of Simon Zimmerman in his shiny new GAA TCC shirt. It must be a Southern thing that I just don't understand.

One of Scotty and the competitors. Man what a great time that was. It was great to see everyone and meet loads of great Georgia climbers. Thanks a ton to Stephan, Tom, and Kevin for putting me up for a few nights.
