Notice all the GOP leadership voted to keep him. Their majority in the House was more important than his criminal behavior. Says a lot about the Party of Law and Order and Family Values. An inch of progress.
Finally, the locks on George Santos office are changed.
Really! Like you to show me that data. You talk just like Trump. Make shit up as you go.Most of Congress are criminals who haven’t been convicted.

I think a huge part of the problem is that it costs an absolute fortune to run for office in this country, even at the local or state level. Air time costs thousands per second for campaign aids, printed stuff and mass mailings ditto. Right here locally even the candidates for county commissioner are shelling out four or five grand or more for glossy mailings, posters, etc. National level politics pretty much ensure any successful candidate is going to be a multi-millionaire. It is simply unreasonable to expect a person of relatively average income to run at that level only on donations. So we are always going to be stuck with extremely wealthy people at the top, and how can we expect them to have any idea of the realities of life at the bottom of the economic tree? Some actually try and some don't give a shyte but put on a good act, and not always clear which is which.I do miss the time when people didn’t just get angry and talk about Trump. I don’t need data to form an opinion. People think the Biden’s, Mitch McConnell, Lindsay Graham, and Bob Menendez are the only ones flying around the world enriching themselves and their families? They all do it. That’s how they own mansions and leave office with tens of millions of dollars. 90% of them are rotten.
How about we ban political advertising?I think a huge part of the problem is that it costs an absolute fortune to run for office in this country, even at the local or state level. That's a bit vague. And political speech is the most protected type of speech. Besides, how would you know what each candidate stands for? Especially a non-incumbent?How about we ban political advertising?
Retribution? Wrong. The 2020 election was about saving our democracy, plain and simple. And after nearly a million dead American's and an economy in the gutter because of Donalds incompetence and lies concerning covid, Ronald fucking McDonald would have beat Trump in 2020. The fact that Trump is even in the running speaks loudly to the state of the GOP/Republicans, and what they stand for. THE cults gonna do what the cult does.Still a lot to play out. I’d be shocked if he even came close to pulling it off with all the forces allied against him. But if he succeeded and made it his mission to burn it all down I’d be fine with it. D.C. is rotten to the core. Not just those elected but the scores of unknown, unaccountable appointed officials.
And let’s not pretend that he’d be the first president elected as “retribution”. Wasn’t Biden retribution to the Trump voters? Aren’t they all, to some extent?
Again, it’s not going to happen. But what does it say about Biden and his policies that a man facing dozens of criminal charges is in a position to even challenge?
I would have used a lot more words to say the same thing here. That attitude of retribution, and even more so saying that that's the only reason why any president got elected speaks to a general tendency towards divisiveness that is characteristic of the right end of the political spectrum.Retribution?
