Just a FYI folks @Tom Dunlap I’ve just heard from someone I know and have heard numerous accounts from unrelated individuals that the FBI are calling or coming knocking on the doors of folks from “complaints” that have been reported regarding social media posts.
And example was a FB post with the thoughts of returning tear gas canisters to the folks who lost them, as well as suggesting that if someone witnesses police brutality they should interfere and come to aid of the victim. This agent mentioned that these statements can be interpreted as inciting violence.
This specific case it was also mentioned that it this was reported under the ‘see something, say something’ number. What is posted on all forms of social media are written paper trail to each and everyone of us. All the frame work for history to repeat is in place, it’s up to each and everyone of us to decide what to do about it.
 
Hopefully, we just have roughly four more months of this banana republic leadership from Trump and his lackies. More and more decent Republicans are backing away from this maniac and I feel sure Biden will be our next president. Trump may not go quietly, being the egotist and sore loser that he is, but go he will. And we can get back to some semblance of normalcy and begin to heal the division he has encouraged.

The wife and I are providing just fine, and I only wear a mask in public when I am entering a place of business, which is very rare. In my daily life I practice social distancing. You get too close you get one verbal warning.. After that it's a smack in the ear...Has worked well for me thus far. Thanks for your concern though, bud....

Rico, one question. 6.3 million kids under the age of 15 died in 2019 worldwide from lack of access to water, sanitation, proper nutrition or basic health services. Since you are such a do-gooder, why the FUCK aren't you speaking up about this?

Buddddd, just stopppp. The point I'm obviously making is why are you SO attached to a topic that has such a low mortality rate when children dying around the globe from not having such basic needs met has an incredibly high mortality rate and gets zero attention? I'll answer it for you, because COVID is so highly politicized. All you want to do is bash Trump, thats literally all you can talk about, it 100% has consumed you.

You'll be interested to know I'm not a huge Trump fan. Our politics are fucked beyond belief on both sides of the aisle. A good honest person can't be elected into any office anymore because everything revolves around money. And that is sad as hell.

Please tell me why I don't know one person with COVID, my crew doesn't know one person with COVID, my family doesn't know one person with COVID etc etc? I'm not saying it's not serious if you get it, im not saying I don't practice social distancing, I'm not saying I don't care.... Please tell me why medical centers are being told to mark deaths as COVID deaths when they aren't? Something stinks, can you all just admit that to me?

Well, guess who politicized it buy downplaying it, taking no action or exhibiting any real leadership, and insinuating that wearing a mask was a liberal thing? He even said at one pojnt that wearing a mask was a statement against him. As to being consumed by it, no, it just happens to be the topic here. Most of us on here are still pretty active at other stuff every day. And we are active on other parts of the Buzz having nothing to do with this. Why would you be surprised to read all this Trump bashing on this tread when that is exactly the very title and subject of the thread? And if you don't know anyone with the virus, count yourself lucky. You want to keep it that way, don't you? I know four with it, quarantined at home. A classmate of mine just had his next door neighbor die of it, with no other health issues. My daughter has a friend with it. Our local case count is slowly rising despite the distancing. My Mom's neightbors have it and four members of her church got it and one died. It is good to remember that they estimate that upwards of 80 percent of those with it, never know it or show any symptoms, thus never know to get tested or that they can spread it. So you don't really know who around you might have it. This is not scare mongering, it is simply being prudent and taking precautions. Obviously, by now, anyone with half a brain can see that this is not the flu, that it is killing far more people than a usual seasonal flu. And it has the potential to kill a lot more if we reopen or relax restrictions, as proved already by the states that did. We obviously agree that there are things that kill more children around the World, but that has absolutely nothing to do with what we are discussing here. You can start a thread, if you like, on cholera, lack of fresh water, Aids, domestic abuse, any number of other issues we all may care about, but they have nothing to do with what we are talking about on this particular thread.

I agree with you that our current politics are entirely f’d right now.
The issue is kids do get COVID, some WILL DIE, more will have long lasting health issues, even more these will be likely debilitating for life. Not to the scale as other demographics, yes. Do you want make that judgment call?
Not to mention there isn’t a single study that kids are any more or less susceptible to getting the virus, just that they handle it better. Odds are if you have 100 kids in a room, one of them gets its most of them will. So they become carriers, might feel a little icky. One of em might die, a handful might get fucked up from it. But most of them will pass it on to teachers, staff, grandparents, neighbors blah blah...

Wasted tax dollars, too. Stupid wall, basically just a symbol of his racism and bigotry. He is raising hell today because the Democrats want to suspend his useless travel ban on China and other countries. The ban did absolutely nothing to stop the virus here obviously. It was brought in from Europe and from Americans returning from the Far East who weren't subject to his ban. And he ignored anything actually useful that he could have done, like encourage masks and distancing from the very beginning like the experts begged everyone to do. We could have largely stopped it by now and it would no longer be nearly as big an issue. The millions wasted on this idiotic wall could be spent on vaccine research, etc. Plenty of more important things could have been financed.

Dude couldn’t even build a wall fully circumnavigating a square block in Portland. “Must be designed to be unclimbable, with no hand or foot holds”. “Must be able to stop a vehicle traveling at 30 mph”
Seems like a dozen or so people wielding sophisticated counter equipment, like hacksaws, leaf blowers, and umbrellas can get that thing on the ground in 15 minutes flat. All the while under heavy fire from teargas, blast balls, etc... every night the wall is reinforced, it keeps coming down.
