I continue to be baffled how so many Americans, especially women, can continue to support him
I can answer that. This is from years of astute observation of "hard core" conservative behavior, which is ultimately the real driving force behind the conservative plight. But, be cautioned about who you apply this to, because there are many men and women both who publicly profess one political belief, while privately believing something different in their heart.
So, it's simple. Hard core conservative men have an inherent belief they are the man of the house and that they are responsible for all the manly things. The hard core conservative woman, usually being raised as a conservative, in turn also believes that she should do all the womanly things. As a result, the man, feeling that he has more power, sometimes chooses to put forth very little effort to fulfill her sexual desires. As a result, both of them become sexually frustrated. The man knows this, but is not willing to take steps to solve the problem, because that would ultimately require that he face his inadequacies, which is not very manly in a sense. The woman usually doesn't make an issue of it, however, when she does, she'll usually become that bossy wife type, which is nothing more than a ruse for her sexual frustration. They sometimes use religious beliefs as an excuse for their lackluster sex life. They find that the only satisfaction they can achieve together is a mutual hatred of those people and things that they feel threaten them. Because, after all, the testosterone had faded, and really deep down inside, the man feels weak and scared. Because the man is scared is he is the woman's protector, she also feels scared. Together they fear everything that might threaten their way of life.
When a man like Trump shows up on the scene, his persona represents everything they desire to be, but are not capable of being themselves. They believe this man will build the safe world that they so desperately need. They get into such a fervor that they become completely blind to the fact that they are being played by someone who is also lacking in the same areas as them. Their passion for this man is so strong, and their excuses for his actions are so well thought out, that even some moderate conservatives become believers. As the moderates fall into the abyss, their sex life also begins to suffer, and they ultimately become hard core believers as well. What none of these people want to face is that the man they worship is just like them - a man who has a beautiful wife that he cannot satisfy -a man whose only way to dominate women is through money and power. But, he is also a man who is charismatic enough to lead this army of sexually frustrated people to try and build of world free of scary things.
Any conservative who would try to argue my point, is almost certainly guaranteed to have a problem in the bedroom. So you want to know why the women support him? Well, if someone would ever make love to them properly, they probably wouldn't support him. After all, only a lover knows how to love.
