I ordered from Treeworker UK and the shipping on a several lb package to MA was 25 UK pounds, which with the exchange works out to be about $40. Not awful considering what I ordered you could not find through any US suppliers at the time.

Is the PINTO pulley better, friction - wise, than the COCOON pulley? I don't have either, but am thinking of upgrading my FS system.

I like the pulley saver too. I have had it get stuck before and I think that it will happen eventually with any saver.

I received the new 2010 rope guide this week and am very impressed with the design. Hubert seems to find such creative ways to improve on things that seem so good the first time, second time... He must never sleep.

The relative efficiency of the pulley in regard to friction. The large PINTO (PINTO Rig) has a 95% efficiency rating. So does the Hitch Climber Rapide.

The small PINTO is ~70% efficient, same as the "regular" Hitch Climber.

The more efficient the pulley (sheave, bearing, bushing, etc.), the less friction involved in the rope system.

The short answer is ... No.

The small PINTO will require a ring of minimum inside diameter: ~50-52mm.

One thing that is very nice about the pulley saver is how it can be so positively cinched on a spar. That makes me feel very comfortable when climbing off of a small spar.

Have any of you guys had the Pulley saver's eye have trouble opening? I'm wondering how many cycles to failure it might have. The Ropeguide 2010 looks very nice but still has a big old ring that could get stuck so I dont see the improvement.

Well it has that rubber piece in it so it stays open when it isn't loaded. With the slight experience with it I think it will always stay open. I guess I don't get what your getting at.

If you guys were going to get a Pinto pulley and get a prusik spliced on for an adjustable friction saver would you get the prusik spliced as a loop like the PulleySaver has or would you get it spliced directly on each lobe like a traditional eye and eye prusik? Oh and would you have Sherrill do it with sewn eyes or get it spliced?

Im not sure what you mean are you referring to the pulley or the splice.
