free air spadeing and fert help

i posted this in the general forum but feel like i might get more of a response here:

Hey there guys and gals. I've recently been studying for my ISA cert test and has become quite interested in air spadeing and fertilizing as well as disease control/ diagnosis. If there is anyone in the south jersey area or even northern jersey areas that wouldn't mind me tagging along a couple Fridays and Saturdays I would greatly appreciate your time and knowledge and I am more than willing to work at no cost. Heck I'll even buy lunch. If anyone out there thinks they can help me out feel free to pm me, post a reply or call me at 856-834-6619. Thanks a lot for your time guys and gals.

Ps. I'm as hard a worker as they come and I am never late. I do ask a lot of questions so be prepaired

okay, seeing that there are no takers here in NJ, ill extend the same proposal to the pa and Delaware, come on guys, there's gotta be someone out there working that's looking for free labor!

YO marc! this is something I can probably help you with .
WE started doing some liquid injection stuff last year, but most of that stuff is set up for the spring. As far as air spading that is aservice we are trying to get off the ground.we have done root pruning but always by hand....ugh!! so we are looking to employ the spade. If not with me then I can most certainly hook you up w one of my buds!! none of this however will take place b-4 spring!

Hey Paul, I'm ready when you are my friend, just give me a shout when you've got some stuff lined up.

As far as the air spadeing goes, I've got a lot of interest in it because of the lack of people doing any kind of root pruning in the area. I've got a compressor set up and ready to roll, I'm just worried that there isn't a large enough market for it, but I guess I'll find out eventually. I've got about a million more questions for ya so you can expect a call sometime this week.

You will be amazed at all of the practical applications for air tools. Once you get one you will be using it more than you can imagine. Don't forget that there is more than one brand of air tool out there. Be sure to check out what is available before you lay out the cash.

YO Gazer, If you have any insights as to which tool you like and why I would be more than interested!!! I am looking to get one for the spring and I would love some direction!! Can you also use it for setting root barrier? It has to be easier than diggin'
Hey Mar I have been root pruning for a number of years and also the Bartlett guys do as well. YOu definately must create your own market for it though. If you willingly show a client a tree that you know has issues, they will usaully pay to have the next one done!!

Okay, spring is on it's way and I just wanted to refresh everyones minds that I am still looking to do fert work and air spadeing/root work for free. Just pm me and we can set something up. I'm looking forward to bothering y'all with dumb dumb stupid questions. Also, I drink lots of redbull and am I talker. You have been warned.

Bump. It has come to my attention that I am probably going to have to travel for this helpful experience. I'll travel anywhere within an hour or Haddonfield nj and am willing to work FOR FREE!!!!

Come down to Dallas...our crews are doing air spading almost every day. It's been spring here since December...after one day of winter :) Seriously...if you're interested, PM me.

Na but I'll pick it up now. Tom, I'd love to travel but doubt I can afford it right now, but damn would that be a great trip. I'll hve to check the bank account and crunch some numbers. Who knows what I'll find.

Wish I could man but human crane and I have work Tuesday and a long drive ahead of us. I'm not too interested in the air spading concept as I am the roots and diagnosis of certain root problems. Thanks for the offer though. Maybe I'll have to make another trip out there

Tom, I am interested in the selling of this service, and how you go about it. I am sure that it is one of the best things we can do for trees, but I just don't see that much of it being done, and not enough emphasis on it within the industry (conferences, trade shows, etc.) I am hoping to get a demo set up for Arbor Fair at ISA Providence, which will balance public education and good stuff for arborists. Do you use a brochure with photos? How do you convince your clients of the value?

-Tom

Well, I have still yet to find anyone in the area willing to teach me so I extend my area once more. If you live within a 6-8 hour drive of dirty jersey and currently spray, fert or airspade I'd love to come out and work the weekend with you. I finally have a new means of transportation and I'm willing to travel for the experience/knowledge.
