Forestry Mowers/Mulchers

I have been getting quite a few invasives management/woodland restoration contracts as of late. We currently use an ambusher attachment on a skid steer to mow down multiflora rose, grapevine and japanese honeysuckle. Does anybody have any experience with the Fecon forestry mulchers? They look better suited for my needs.

I always used them as an employee no idea about price except everyone i know that ever rented one complained about the price. If and when you do my advice is grease it everyday and keep an eye on the teeth make sure they are all there. That attachment is expensive and you need to stay up on its maintenance. If you mulch any hard wood with it go slow and take small sweeps from top backwards to end of log. Try not to run over small chunks of logs they will jam the head. If mulching limbs face them all the same way. Good luck!

Just be sure that the machine you put it on has enough hydraulic flow to get the most out of the Fecon before you make the investment. We've been renting a fecon on and off for a couple years using an underpowered bobcat, still does a great job. Just now we rented the whole unit, enough flow to match the fecon and it's night and day what we can mow down.
