Ford F-550 Northern New Jersey

Hey anyone live close to this company? I was wondering if anyone wanted to make a few easy bucks. Especially someone who know about trucks. I wanted someone to go check this truck out and see if its got any MAJOR issues. I think it looks like a great deal, and something that I really need right now. A little more chip capacity, 4x4 and an automatic.

PM if interested!!

If that truck does not have any head gasket issues...that's a deal on a nice truck.
Just flush the coolant, install coolant filter.
Egr delete and be done.
Maybe an exhaust and a custom tow tune from some one who knows how not to blow head gaskets on non studded trucks.
If you tune it get an egt gauge!
You can buy a combustion gas detection kit to check for a head gasket leak.
Real simple, samples the air in the degas bottle. about $50 at napa.
Essential tool for 6ohleaker buyers! Next to a scan gauge!

When I bought my 6.0 I knew it had a head gasket issue even though the truck was not loosing coolant or over heating.

F550.webp Here's the 550 and dump trailer.

I'm planning on becoming a dealer for the grapple saw. 33.5" grapple, 14" saw, continuous rotation. I'll use it for processing and loading trees with my 6t excavator. I can fit the excavator and my 7015trx in the dump trailer in one load. In theory, I should be able to fit a Boxer or Avant between the gooseneck hitch and the cab.

nice set up but I think the mini on/off that high up is more difficult than necessary. I want my on and off of a mini easy as pie. Get used more then.

Royce don't you have a cab over lil gmc or Mitsubishi? They made those in 4wheel drive I think maybe you could look for a cab and chassis and then get a chip box for it, I know where one is now, its small though. Just a thought you really have to get what works for you as I am sure you know that!! A big truck is nice though just you can chip for awhile before its full.

The 6.0s do have all the problems all these guys are saying but I heard after they are all fixed they are pretty good motors but like lumberjack said if it hasn't had that stuff done then expect to have it done.

Good luck though! Show us what you get!!

With the excavator, I don't use a forwarder as often, but having it on the truck would be handy. I don't see what's hard about going up and down ramps though?

Not hard (but kind of esp. if wet)...just not easy. Like to see a vid of loading a mini on that steep of a grade. I know putting my mini on my pickup bed is a pita compared to a tilt trailer or drop gate.

Sounds like you need longer ramps! My current ramps are 12' long, cleated aluminum. I use them to load my track loader, stump grinder, and excavator when I'm running a mowing/grinding attachment on it. They would be overkill for a mini, but they make other options.

still like to see the vid of a load on a pick bed. not for me as I know how awkward it would look. perfect flat location...sure...not too bad, but how often is one given that?

I loaded my Thomas mini on truck beds for 4 years, then started hauling it in and loading the gooseneck for 18 months... it's not a big deal, unless you're trying to use 5' ramps to get on a 42" deck.

Here is a video I did loading my Vermeer 650tx on to my truck: 40" high deck, 7.5' 10,000 lbs ramps.

I wouldn't go any shorter then 7.5, they are a bit short and steep....kinda scary. I plan to go to a 9-10 ramp.

I know some of you travel long distances to jobs like I used to in NJ so you need to pack it on all together...but I bought this trailer about 10 years ago for $675 new with a spare...
