footware for competitions

This rule has good intent, but some low cut shoes are better for sport tree climbing. I like Big Wall aid climbing boots. I usually supercharge them with stealth sticky dot rubber and a couple of conviently located rubber chunks for superior footlocking. The soles wear out fast but they are easy to resole yourself. Also, I like to ShoeGoo the stiching when they are brand new. This helps with abrasion a lot. I think they are closing out the Scarpa Pro Ascent(orange) to make way for thier new model, so good deals are out there.

For some reason Black Diamond are no longer reps for Scarpa. It's Scarpa usa I think now. Try MountainTools they were closing them out a few months back. The BD stock was sent back to Scarpa to have thier labels put back on. They may have come out with a new model or new name. Google Big Wall climbing Boots. Good luck, I bought 2 pair last time since it was so epic to get'm.
