This rule has good intent, but some low cut shoes are better for sport tree climbing. I like Big Wall aid climbing boots. I usually supercharge them with stealth sticky dot rubber and a couple of conviently located rubber chunks for superior footlocking. The soles wear out fast but they are easy to resole yourself. Also, I like to ShoeGoo the stiching when they are brand new. This helps with abrasion a lot. I think they are closing out the Scarpa Pro Ascent(orange) to make way for thier new model, so good deals are out there.
