What's cornbread salad ?
Romaine lettuce
Tomatoes
Cheese
Canned corn
Cornbread (we like ours a little sweet)
Bacon
Homemade ranch dressing

when preparing you layer it with 2 layers each

it’s a Disney recipe from Fort Wilderness’s restaurant Trails Inn at their Campground

It’s definitely a favorite around here and the parties

Sausage Taste Test
Rev: 210604 1405

Another Sausage Taste Test – sausage skillet fried in butter:

D’Artagnan - Rabbit, Pork & Ginger Sausage
D’Artagnan – Smoked Andouille Sausage
True Story – Spicy Five Pepper Berkshire/Kurobuta Pork Sausage
True Story – Parmesan Shiitake & Truffle Berkshire/Kurobuta Pork Sausage

Asparagus – fried 1 min.

French fries – Russet – fried 20 min. at 325°F

This comparison is not exactly correct, since the sausages are not the same types; but it’s what I bought.
Note 1: D’Artagnan is a really high-end, quality brand used by many top restaurants in the USA.
Note 2: I had never heard of True Story until my butcher suggested it today.
Note 3: These are all REALLY good sausages ! ! !

Non-spicy sausage results:
1. True Story – Parmesan Shiitake & Truffle Berkshire/Kurobuta Pork Sausage
2. D’Artagnan - Rabbit, Pork & Ginger Sausage

Spicy sausage results:
1. True Story – Spicy Five Pepper Berkshire/Kurobuta Pork Sausage
2. D’Artagnan – Smoked Andouille Sausage

Wow, those do look and sound quite good! I’ve never heard of either of those brands though, nor have I seen them in a local butcher shop.

I must admit I am partial to local sausages though, made at the little butcher shop down the street. They make some good stuff - maybe not as good as those, but still good - and I like supporting local small businesses enough that I’ll spend more at one to avoid buying elsewhere.

There’s a meat store right by the Morbark factory I stop in and IMO the best homemade and Michigan made!!!

D’Artagnan products are 1st class: meat & game; seafood; duck & poultry; foie gras; charcuterie; etc.
They do on-line & are very famous for their duck products.
They are expensive, but the very best ingredients are expensive.
If you get on their e-mail list; they have sales several times a year.

They also have a "Sale" section tab on the web site.

Wow, they do have quite a list of specialty items. They’re quite expensive, but that’s never bothered me. I have no problem paying for quality. I’ll have to consider ordering something one of these days, when I feel like something a little unusual.
