Isn't latex water soluble ? Or is that just my house paint ? What VOCs do paint manufacturers use ? Would they be safe for ropes ? Just questions but no answers here. Good luck.
Thanks,I'll give that a try, nothing to lose but some mayo.
That was a frustrating job, saws would not cut well, hitch bound up on globs on the line, etc. Cuts on branches spilled out like a slit bottle of elmers glue.
I have to say I just let it dry in and it slowly dissapears. We have breadfruit trees here which are worse than ficus. I will take ficus over the breadfruit any day. Have not found anything that works. I used to wash ropes often but couldn't be bothered anymore. I just use a clean prussic on the sappy rope, and the sappy prussic on a clean rope. This cleans things up quickly. Though I have to say I work these trees from bottom up ( if possible ) to minimize the dripping milk.
