Do any of you have friends or family in action in the Middle East? It's amazing how much combat is going on. For those who joined the service hoping for action e.g. special forces, etc., they must be getting a dump truck full. Yes, war is hell, but some guys join hoping for action and stay in for years without any if their timing is wrong.

One of my office mates was a Marine for many years. He got a radio phone call from a buddy a couple of nights before the attack started. Bernie was touched, I could tell.

Whatever one's feelings are about the war, it hurts to hear about the deaths.

My Uncle, who is two years younger than me, just went in for a second time. He is an ex- Marine (if there is such a thing) and now just graduated from Fort Knox in the Army. He was tranied as a Scout- First in , Last to leave.
