Fact check and feed back

I've just been appointed Educational Director for Eastside Tree Works in western Washington. Part of my responsibilities is to write a weekly blog and even though i spend a good amount of time fact checking, I am asking the well educated treebuzz community to act as quality control to assure the public get the very top information. So please feel free to comment.

To much to say other than fact check, technical edit, grammatical edit, then publish. Editing should like take 3 or 4 times as long as the original draft took.

There are lots of things to say but you should know that auxin is not a hormone, it is a plant growth regulator.

[/ QUOTE ]You might want to fact check that change before making it. Words can have different menaings in different contexts and regions and professions. mrtree may be right in some places, but that sounds like overparsing to me; i've heard "hormone" used by several botany professors.

How do you make a hormone?

my original source material for this article is the course manual for Tree Risk Assessment in Urban Areas and the Urban/Rural Interface by J. Dunster. Sense then i have found many biological texts that refer to Auxin as a hormone or a Phytohormone.
